Programming Philosophy

The basic programming philosophy of Ankobra 101.9 FM is to productively maximize information, education and entertainment for the rural community and relatively low literacy level of our audience. We also take on board the agro-economy including fishing and farming as part of activities for the company. Consequently, we seek to use the medium to create awareness of best practices and to educate the population on issues of government policies as well as issues boarding on local and traditional authorities. We support Local governance institutions such as District and Municipal Assemblies, The Electoral Commission, Judicial Services and other Organizations and Political Parties in their programs. Political issues, particularly government policies are discussed to inform and educate the listening audience. Religious programs are also featured. An active audience-participation is encouraged through the phone in segments on almost all the programs. Our language mix is Nzema, Akan and English with occasional use of other local dialects as well as French.

Future Services

As Ankobra FM grows, more communications and security systems will be added. The possibility of additional services has been accounted for in our future plan. As the demand for our services increases, along with the increase in competition, Ankobra will continue to add new services to keep its customer base coming back for more.
